PIAS Comedy are very happy to announce that they have agreed a deal to release DVD’s from Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan in the UK.
Tommy Tiernan is a phenomenon in Ireland. He is the biggest selling comedian on DVD in the country. He is second only to U2 when it comes to live ticket sales with his tours setting box office records wherever he goes – he played 166 dates at Dublin’s 1000 capacity Vicar St Theatre, in 2009 he played three nights to 12,000 people a night in a marquee in Cork…
The first DVD we will be working with him on will be ‘Cracked – The Comedians Cut’ which will be released on Nov 8. It’s a re-edit of his best Eire release.
He won the Perrier Award in 1998. He has spent the last decade becoming one of Ireland’s biggest stars. Now he is focusing his attention on the UK. He kicks off a 30 date UK tour on Oct 6. The London date is Nov 26 at the HMV Forum.
He headlined the Dublin date of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow which will be broadcast on BBC 1 at 9.15pm on Saturday 9th October. He will also headline one of McIntyre’s Live At The Apollo shows which will broadcast on a BBC1 on a Saturday night in December (date tbc).
